Then came the day where my ’69 beetle was picked up and taken to sandblasting and after that some serious body work. The guy who is helping med is Henrik Hansen from “Pladewerket”.
We started early and within an hour the car was packed and ready to go on the bed of Henriks Type 2 pickup – a proper way to transport it away from the workshop.
It was a mix of happiness and a little sadness to see the car rolling off on the back of the trailer – parted into atoms, with lots of rust and in dire need of fresh metal – but also on it’s way to better days.
